We chose this for our two youngest, ages six and nine, who are old enough for adventure but perhaps not yet ready for anything truly demanding. It was perfect. The guide on the raft has the patience of a naturalist and the enthusiasm of someone who genuinely loves what he does. He spotted a green kingfisher, two different monkey troops, and a river otter before we had been floating for twenty minutes. The children talked about it every day for the rest of the trip. We would happily do it again ourselves.

We had been touring actively for ten days and needed something that would let us breathe. The Tenorio float was exactly that. Llanos de Cortez in the morning, truly one of the most photogenic waterfalls I have seen, and then ninety minutes on a perfectly calm river where the only requirement was to sit and look. Giant trees. Birds I couldn't identify but our guide could. A fruit break midstream that felt absurdly civilised. Back at the resort by early afternoon. The ideal reset.

We booked Plus and added Las Pumas at the end. Watching a jaguar pace its enclosure twenty feet away is not something I had expected to experience in Costa Rica. The rescue centre staff are passionate and knowledgeable and the work they do is clearly meaningful. Combined with the waterfall and the river float, Plus makes for a genuinely complete half-day that covers wildlife, nature, and something with real purpose behind it. Highly recommended for anyone who cares about conservation alongside the experience.
